*Photo taken from Unsplash.com free images Hi, friends! I have a fun challenge this lovely Friday! Based on the image above, let's create a story together. Here's how this is going to work: The first person to comment starts the story. The next person to comment continues the story off of what the first person wrote, and so on. Some notes to keep things interesting: You are not allowed to use the words cold, friends, or dark. (You may imply them but not use those specific words. Be creative.) Please, keep your part of the story to no more than 10 sentences each. Rules: Please respect each other and my blog. This is a Christian blog focused towards Christian teenagers. Please, do not use language that would harm our witness, please keep the actions of your characters pure and not violent. I reserve the right to remove any comments that I do not approve of or that violate these rules. Have fun, y'all. ;) Tell me a story!

Avery swung her denim backpack onto her shoulder and called up the stairs. "I'm going, Mom!"

A slight breeze skimmed over her as she made her way down the driveway and onto the sidewalk. The sidewalk was shadowed by giant weeping willows, and for a split second Avery regretted not grabbing her jacket. She soon dismissed the thought, however, knowing that if she turned back now she might miss the hiking group. Besides, then she'd have to admit that her mother was right, and she certainly wasn't about to do that. Instead, she crossed the road to walk down the opposite sidewalk, which wasn't shaded.

Halting her twirl, she inwardly thanked the Lord for the beauty of the spring weather that was finally here at last. Snatching up her backpack, she took off in a jog down the sidewalk toward the hiking club meeting place, the wind whipping her hair in the breeze.

Ah, whoops, I used friend twice. :( Bella, if you can, can you change the first one to "pals" and the second one to "companion"? Sorry about that, I totally forgot! :) This is such a fun challenge! :)

After a general chorus of hugs and hellos, the seven teenagers headed down the street and soon turned off the road and onto a well beaten path. Avery shivered again as the path entered the tall trees of a forest, then pulled her backpack closer to her, hoping to grant herself some warmth. Jake, walking behind her with his sister, smiled and slowed his walk to dig into his backpack. "Here," he said, jogging to catch up with Avery. She grinned in relief and took the spare sweatshirt he held out. She handed him her bag and slipped it on.

She grinned wryly. "Guess that's what I just did, huh?"

"Well, I'm not." stated Issac. "Who's for going on?" the group responded in a chorus of affirmatives.

The trail soon got steeper, and a light mist started to fall.

Thunder began pounding in the sky above. A chilly breeze swirled through the trees, whistling its way down a cliff edge which hung fifty feet away.
