On this special day that celebrates love, I think about more than just roses and little chocolates, or red cards and fancy dinners.
Today I think my true Love.
He is my Hero, my Knight in shining armor on a white horse who has rescued me. He is my Rescuer, my Redeemer. He is my smile, my joy, my strength. He is my Prince and my Reward. He is my first and forever Love. My true Love.
Without Him I am nothing.
He rescued me when I could not rescue myself and He did it when I did not deserve it in anyway. He loved me when I ran away and turned my back. He loved me yesterday, He loves me today, and He will love me for eternity. He loves me more than anyone else on this earth ever has or ever will. He gave me life and meaning and He blessed me beyond anything I could ever imagine. He created the roses to give me today and the sun to shine on my face.
My Hero, my true Love is Jesus Christ.
Jesus is my everything and I love Him more every day.
On this day that celebrates love, I think about the only true, great, unconditional love this world has ever known. A love that was perfect in our God and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Son of God left His home and His Father to come to earth, to walk where we walk, to experience what we experience. But He didn't just leave to come here with no reason. He left knowing what it would cost Him. He left to come and die on the cross, a painful, humiliating, awful death. And He did it to rescue His love. This was the only way to rescue us from death and separation from Him forever and He paid that price with His own innocent, precious blood.
Because He loves me. Because He loves you.
He loves you.
Can we even comprehend that love? A love that is so pure and unconditional that no matter how many times we fail Him and run from Him, He still waits for us to come back with His arms open wide. His love will never go away and never leave us. His love is the most priceless gift you will ever receive.
I don't know if you are single on this Valentines Day, if you're dating, or if you're married. I don't know how you feel about love today or if you believe in it at all.
But I do hope that you can believe how much He loves you.
I pray you can understand how much He wants you to run to Him and accept His love.
Today and always I am so grateful for His love.
And every time I see His work in my life I stop and whisper to my true Love, "I love you too."
